Argh, I went to bed at 10, woke up at 4:30, couldn’t go back to sleep until 7:30, and then had to get up at 9 anyway. Adjust, body clock! Work with me here! But I love my Copenhagen: History and Contemporary Urban Issues class!Absolutely fascinating, about how the city was built and changed throughout time. Trade and Political Power in the EU is kinda boring though. Very dense textbook. Terrorism was awesome. But then again, terrorism is always awesome.
One funny thing I’m noticing about living here is how much more I eat, and how thirsty I am during the day. I guess that makes sense; I walk, at a bare minimum, at least half a mile a day, which I don’t think I did at home. On soccer practice days, quite apart from practice itself, I have a fifteen minute walk each way (while walking fast). I wonder how far that is? The last two nights, I’ve woken up in the middle of the night starving, even though I had a big dinner. I had a big cup of yogurt and some pasta at 7, and I’m so hungry now at 11 that I might die at any moment.
Fun facts:
Danes don’t say ‘excuse me’ if they bump you - they don’t have a word for it - and they don’t really get it when you do. Try taking public transpo at rush hour and not saying excuse me. It’s really hard!
They call Q tips baby cotton sticks. Adorable.
Unfun fact: The radio on the bus this morning was playing ‘Bleeding Love.’ WHYYYYYY?????
