Last night I went out with a couple people to hang out I thought, and have a couple drinks, but we ended up going to the Asturiano, the american-international student hangout where everyone knows english. and i ended up standing outside most of the night trying to make idle conversation until finally i just left to walk all the way home through a dark, rainy and deserted city alone. I was pretty scared and had my mace out and ready to roll. I was walking down a particulary deserted road when an african man walked by and said something about ¨donde es....¨ so i stopped and said ¨que¨= what. and he said ¨hablas ingles¨+speak english. and i said ¨si¨ and he said ¨where are you from¨but since i was alone on a dark street with only my mace to protect me, i said ¨i´m from canada.¨and he asks öh, the US¨ and say ¨no canada¨ and he goes ¨oh america¨umm..no. canada above the united states. and then as i said i have to get going he was like ÿou want to get something to drink..go somewhere with me¨ uhhh..let me think. NO
I was so pissed by that point that I was ready to fight the next person who even tried to talk to me. just cuz i speak english doesn´t mean i´m some whore who walks around looking for random seady men to get drinks with. here when a guy buys you a drink, you owe them something afterwards. some of the girls here have figured that out the hard way. nothing is ever free. blah.
