and yet another experience comes to an end
Well,
Here I am, with only one more day left in Oviedo, sitting at the internet cafe thinking of everything I have been through, and everything I have learned in the last three some months, and all I can say is wow.
I´ve been looking forward to going home every second that I have been here, but now that I am 30 hours away from getting on that plane..I can´t help but with I were staying. I´ve gotten used to a different way of life, a different way of living. I´ve gotten to spend three months with the best host family a girl like me could ever want. There have been rare times in my life when someone has taken care of me like she has. And she´s happy to do it. She´s very proud what she does, as she damn well should be. She slaves away day and night making sure that no one has to go without a clean shirt, a well prepared meal, and a clean and warm house.
Once I was able to get over the fact that somone was ordering me around, i was able to really apreciate everything she does.
And I´m able to appreciate and enjoy a different style of life, where people take the whole summers off to be with their families instead of work, take off the middle of the day so that they can go home and eat a hearty lunch with their family, and where they go out in the evenings for strolls just to see the neighbors and be seen.
I´m going to miss Oviedo. That´s for sure. I only hope that I can take a little bit of it with me.
I can´t put to words what I am feeling right now. I´m not sure if I ever will be able to.
Either way, I´m off on a plane and I am so excited to see home, to see my friends and family and just be. I´m excited to see the christmas decorations and the trees and the smiling faces. I´m excited to see Michael, who is at this moment having some sort of blast in Las Vegas. Go DUCKS!! It´s been a bit of a disappointing season so I hope the football team at least plays better than last years bowl game. geesh. It was the most boring game of football I had ever seen.
