"Everyone I Know Goes Away In The End..."
Back from Fort Hood. It was awesome. Before we left, I found out that I had gotten a scholarship for my room and board, which was pretty dang nice.
Got to ride on a Chinook, a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and a Blackhawk. It was awesome. The Blackhawk was flying NOE (Nape of The Earth), and it was like the coolest roller coaster imagineable. I now have a terrific respect for the Bradley's fighting prowess, but I still think it's a deathtrap.
As for OPFOR, we kicked some Ranger ass. They never saw us coming.
Now for the crap stuff.
My roomate, the guidon, is not going to come back this semester. That means I have to take his job, which means a heck of a lot of changes in my plan for next semester. This FRAGO sucks. I was planning on taking 18 hopurs, but now I may have to cut that back. In addition, I have to do most, if not all of candidacy planning on my own.
Now I have to give my 3rd platoon corporal job away, and I have to split up roomates to get a new one. This is crap.
And this was going to be such a good semester.
As the Army says, embrace the suck.
