If you could have dinner with one figure from history, and assuming language would not be a barrier, with whom would you dine and converse?
Such a hard question for me.. Karl Marx, Mao Tse-Tsung, Pope Innocent III, Immanuel Kant, Rene Descartes, Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, Albert Einstein, Abu al-Mughith al-Husayn ibn Mansur al-Hallaj to name a few.
If you could return in time and undo one historical event, which one might it be?
I'm going to apply *history* in a very loose way here based on fiction - but I would have to say, the birth of Jesus ;) But then again, I'm sure that would only leave another person to fill those footsteps, but I think that's true of any historical event. My first instinct was to say the Holocaust, the Crusades, or various other religious based atrocities - but then I realized that my actual answer would cover those and quite a few other things - so I'll stick with it w/out further elaboration.
If you could spend the next year of your life doing whatever you wanted, with no restrictions based on time or money or any other such obstacle, how would you spend the year?
I would create 2 seperate funds that would not only cover my higher education through my PhD, but also the higher education of my gf through her PhD, and set up trust funds for my future family - then once that was done, we would spend 6 months traveling the world, 3 days desposing of the current governmental system with in the US, donate money to various animal shelters, non-profit organizations, and to the betterment of my friends and family - spend 2 months in the Vatican vaulted/private library, 1 month in the US governmental text archives (probably in the NSA/CIA/FBI/FEMA exclusively), and the remaining 2 months and 27 days doing things that I can't think of at the moment ;)
What is the "worst" crime you have committed?
I refuse to answer this question but thank you for asking ;)
If your biography were published tomorrow, what title would you most like it to have? What do you think the most appropriate title would be?
The Theology of Mediocrity
Were you to be buried in a cemetary, what would you like to have etched into your tombstone?
To find everything profound - that is an inconvenient trait. It makes one strain one's eyes all the time, and in the end one finds more than one might have wished.
If burial is not desired, do you have any preferences on what is done with your body once dead?
Pagan Funeral Ceremony - Cremation - ashes spread over the Badlands
If heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive?
"Wow, I really fucked up this time - you were right all along! In heaven all the interesting people are missing anyway, you wouldn't like it"
