So, since I have been absent for quite a while, here's a short tidbit...
Summer of 2012, I decided to go back to school. I wanted to be a Doctor of Pharmacy when I first started, but then reality slapped me in the face pretty hard and I realized that I did not want to go through that much stress as an older student. I did not want the stress of the competition and the stress of medical school AND then the stress of the job itself. So, I changed majors to math and I now want to teach. I have been back in school full time since 2012 at a local community college. I love it. I love my instructors, especially in the math department, which was one main reason I switched to math as a major. I love the kids that I go to school with. They really have become like my own kids. I have done well also. I have a 3.614 GPA (for NOW) and the biggest news is that I applied for a transfer agreement with UC Santa Cruz in September.... today I found out that the transfer agreement was ACCEPTED!! YAY!! I still need to finish my courses as they are laid out for me and I must complete the application to the university, but overall, I am THRILLED! I get to go be a Banana Slug starting in the fall of 2015. YES YES YES! I want to teach math. I love algebra and I see it so naturally. I am thankful for that!
We are beginning to wind down our semester and we are gearing up for finals. Please send happy thoughts for my math class, even though it is my major, it is stressing me out. I am currently taking multivariable calculus, History 2, English Lit, Webpage authoring and PE (yes, I still have to take a PE class). I am also working part time tutoring a blind gal in pre-algebra. It has been challenging, but also very rewarding! She has received 100%'s on all of her exams so far!!
So, that's my life in a nutshell. The kids are now all big. My younger 2 are now almost 18 and 16. Where DOES the time go?
