I just can't help it.

Well, I still hate shopping. I'm like a two year old, except the tantrums I throw are about how I *don't* want things. It's rather ungracious and upsetting, really.

But enough of that.

In completely tangetial news, best present of Christmas was the soundtrack to Wicked, as it translates into tickets for this summer's run as soon as they go on sale. I've been listening to it way too much, especially because I know, deep in my lizard hindbrain, that there's nothing more annoying than musical soundtracks, but, but...

It's extra hilarious (and I might lose a few with this one, but I think there's enough West Wing folk to enjoy this) because the woman who sings the part of Glinda is Kristin Chenowith, who also plays Annabeth, one of the relatively more enjoyable post-Sorkin characters. She's tiny, perky, and in charge of public image at the White House. And I can just see her serenading Toby:

la la, la la!
we're gonna make you pop-u-lar!

when i see depressing creatures,
with unprepossessing features,
i remind them on their own behalf
to - think - of
celebrated heads of state,
or specially great communicators!
did they have brains or knowledge?
don't make me laugh!

they were POPULAR!
please! it's all about popular.
it's not about aptitude,
it's the way you're viewed,
so it's very shrewd to be,
very very popular like ME!

Believe me, in my head, the look on Toby's face is hilarious.

So. Yeah. That was two or three kinds of dorky at once. But it's ok, because I'm in Wisconsin and I'm *really* bored.
