what's going on
I have officially changed my major to Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Spanish.
If I decide I really like spanish, then I will change it to a major as well.
Here is my current class schedule:
Monday/Wednesday
9:05-9:55 Music Theory 3
10:10-12:05 Symphonic Winds
Tuesday/Thursday
9:30-10:45 Ear Training 2
11:00-12:15 Physical Geography
12:30-1:45 Finite Mathematics
2:00-3:15 Introduction to Literary Genres for Native/Heritage Speakers
6:25-7:40 Clarinet Choir (Tuesday Only)
Friday:
2:30-3:20 Woodwind/Clarinet Forum
Throw in clarient lessons for two credits, and that's it!
I'm also really excited to have Fridays almost completely off. Forum doesn't really count as a class.
I spent all of this week meeting with my music therapy advisor, the BA in Music director, the dean of the school of music, my clarinet teacher, an academic counselor, and the career center just to make sure I wasn't making a stupid decision. This is my second time changing my major, and I really hope this isn't going to end up being a mistake. But I think I should end up okay, I've decided that worrying really gets me nowhere and as long as I try my hardest and make the best of everything, all should turn out well.
Oh and I also have a cold. I haven't been sick since October 2006 so this really fucked me up. I've been taking medication and naps like crazy, and after three days, I think I'm starting to get better.
I've been looking for a job this week as well. I applied at this Thai/Japanese restaurant called Moon across the street from my dorm, and at Starbucks. I've had interviews at both. The guy at Moon was an asshole, so if I get called back there, I'm going to say no thanks because he was rather demeaning and basically told me I'm not good enough for that job, even though he really didn't understand what I was trying to tell him. I'd rather not work at Starbucks, but if it's the only job I can get within walking distance, then I guess I'll have to take what I can get. With a lighter class schedule, I need to find something to do with my time, and what else is there to do besides make a little extra money? I'm going to have to pay off my student loans eventually.
Okay this update is reaching its ending point, and I believe it's time for a nap.
