what i find worse than the giant paper cock building students are the students who have some how managed to combine their very real and personal passion with paper cock construction--those are the dangerous folks.

that quoting Emmerson bit hit home . . . but, you know though, there are some of us who have so much literature stuck in our heads that it can't help but dribble out . . . it becomes part of our speech, our thought, to the point that life becomes literary. it happens to you with history, no? the feeling of all things historical? the popping of dates and facts inside your head like so much popcorn?

but then, i think of this mock line even more:

"Oh, I am so articulate and well read, I have a Master's Degree, look, I can quote Emmerson."

and i wonder about those who involve their lives in sports and things like LARP, computer programming, D&D, . . . music. they can let roll of their tongues the most amazing bits of info . . . i wonder, is it really so different? intent, of course, accounts for some of the difference . . .

or, maybe the Pablo Piccato summer fellowship student waving the paper cock was hoping you would pull out your paper cock so the two of you could have some hot paper cock sex!

Emmerson was just a name I threw out there. It is a variable that can be replaced with any number of names.
