A few pictures..of Demri Parrott during her short life.. she made an impact that is for sure.
A little history for those who do not already know..
Demri Lara Parrott was engaged to Layne Staley of Alice in Chains which was a very well known rock band in the 1990's but there is so much more to Demri.. she was an artist herself, a model and someone who could always make you laugh. She was the type of person who when she entered a room full of people.. all eyes would be on her... she sucked the energy from the room and then blasted it back out at you and made you laugh and smile. She was so different then everyone else and everyone knew it who met her.. She was a star in her own right. She lost her battle with drugs before she even reached the age of 30. She suffered from a heart condition known as bacterial endocarditis which is caused by intravenous drug use... She was in and out of the hospital for a couple years. She had open heart surgery and had a pig valve and pacemaker inserted in her heart. Demri Lara Parrott, died due to complication of endocarditis on Oct 29th 1996.
She will forever be loved and missed... by me and everyone who truly loved her.
Rest in Peace Sweet Angel I will always spread the truth about who you REALLY were..so much more than just a rock stars girlfriend. She was Dem. The geeky, funny, caring, TALENTED and unique girl who could of owned the world if she had not got caught up in what was going on around her. She was not the only victim of those times and culture we were living in. I was lucky enough to get away but I did not escape unscathed. I will never forget the times and fun I had with my friends during that amazing time. I do not regret it and I am not ashamed. I love you Dem, Layne, Rosheen and Mike. Rest in Peace sweet angels.

Demri was a true nudist at heart. So don't worry I am not bashing her by showing these beautiful images. Demri was proud of her body and was not at all ashamed or embarrassed by nudity. In fact I don't think she had a shy bone in her body and if she did... well she never showed it.
Demri and Xana again...I don't know how tall Xana is but you can kinda see how really tiny she was. I'm 5'5 and I think Dem was like 4'11 or maybe 5 foot. I always felt like this giant beast around her. Haha! She was like a well proportioned china doll. Look she's even wearing heels and Xana is still towering over her. Dem was a fashion nut. She loved everything vintage. Victorian style dresses, 70's stuff... over-all and combat boots as you can see above. She wore things no one else could even try to pull off without looking like a weirdo but she always seemed to make the weirdest things look cute and cool. I'm pretty sure Demri was one of the girls that started the so called seattle grunge look... for girls at least. I also wore my docs and skirts. I had a pair of docs with the american flag on them and a white star on the toe.. they probably looked like clown shoes but at the time I thought they were the coolest thing EVER! We wore a lot of black, lace and dresses.
I grew up in Orange County so I totally missed the metal hair band era. I was into Bob Marley and Led Zeppelin and dressed more like a hippy/punk chick then a rocker BY FAR! Demri was not a rocker chick either (a t least when I knew her) she totally had her very own style going on..that we all secretly wanted to emulate. She was also a little hippy chick for sure... She wore patchouli oil and long "hippy" skirts and after she left the room .. you knew Dem had been there. If you went to her house her whole house smelled like her... go figure I know.... it was not a bad smell or anything but it was just uniquely her.
Demri hardly wore makeup but when she did she used her lipstick for her blush and her lips. Then she may of added some black eyeliner and possibly mascara. She just didn't need makeup she had that SMILE!! Aww Demri I miss you.

Me and Mike Starr (I was 19 at the time...and he was my boyfriend) this was 20 years ago.
Me in Mikes room which was a basement in his Mom's house and YES this was after Facelift was already released. These were not the pop stars of today.. these were just regular guys even with the fame and albums everything that comes along with it. We would sleep in during the day and then go out to the clubs at night. We had such a blast. The music scene was incredible back then.. every night there was another great show!! I will never forget those times we had together in this short and crazy life.
