Here's a run down of what happened last week. What I remembered at least...
Sunday (Aug. 23, 2009) - My dad and I got here safely. Thank God. Smart didn't work though. I was nervous the entire flight because I was a little scared of what the guy from the immigration is going to ask me. My dad even prepared possible questions with proper answers to review. Imagine how relieved I felt when all I was asked was what course I'm taking and what school I'm going to attend. :)
Then we got held a bit at customs all because of the butter from the plane. The officer was nice though. He was asking us if we have balut or chicharon with us while he was inspecting our baggage. I found that funny... No wait, amusing is probably the more appropriate word. Hehehe.
I also have to include here that airplane food excites me. Seriously. Every time that we're going to travel, I always look forward to airplane food. And I was not disappointed this time. This time, I had quiche. It was the first time that I had quiche. It's just eggs basically. With a fancy name. Tastes good though. Hehehe.
The apartment was big enough for me and my dad. Thanks to ate Rosalie and Tita Tenny for the bed frame, table, some food and for picking us up at the airport. :)
Monday (Aug. 24, 2009) - I helped my dad "clean" parts of the apartment. Basically what we did was disinfect the bathroom and the kitchen. Then we went out to explore the grocery shop across the street. We live beside a grocery shop. A cold grocery shop. I'm not even exaggerating, it's really cold in there.
This was also when I officially moved in to my room. :)
Wednesday (Aug. 26, 2009) - My cousin drove us to a supermarket where I got my debit card. Apparently I need one since it's the only means for me to pay for a monthly pass -- for now I believe. Then she drove us to Scarborough Town Center because my dad and I are planning to apply for phone and internet connection. The funny thing is, the phone and internet line, debit card, and probably the application form for the apartment is all under my name. Hehehehe! This is all too amusing for me.
Thursday (Aug. 27, 2009) - We went to the airport. Through subway and bus. I can now pick up my mom on November when she gets here. :) A lot cheaper than taking a cab.
Saturday (Aug. 29, 2009) - I took my placement exams for English and Math at 1 pm. I sure am glad that my dad made sure I review my English and Math. Also, I was able to use what I learned during my IELTS review since I was also asked to write an essay. I don't even know how I was able to finish the entire exam in 2 hours. Hehehehe!
