17 Again

Reasons why I love this movie:

1. It will teach us that you don’t necessarily need to go back to change things. You just need to look at things on a different angle. Just like with what happened to Mike O’Donnell. He didn’t went back in time. He was just given the chance to look more closely in to what he already have and to learn about what he’s been missing.

2. Somehow related to the first one, just because you we’re given the chance to make things right doesn’t mean that it’s all about you. Being seventeen again, he was able to hang out with his kids without them knowing it. And through that he was able to help his son with basketball and protect his daughter from her boyfriend. And because he was friends with his son, he was able to realize how much he love his wife is.

3. It shows the consequences of sex.

4. The maturity of Mike’s character when he was 17 when he chose to be with his girlfriend rather than the basketball scholarship. Now I’m not saying that it would be really immature of you if you chose your dream than your kid because I know that it happens. All I meant was that he put his kid first before himself.

I was almost crying when the movie was nearing the end. It was actually a good thing that my brother was sitting beside me or else I would’ve really cried. Although still playing the high school basketball jock like that in HSM, I found his role in 17 Again more mature…

This is a nice Father’s Day movie. We should all watch this with our dad or husband.
