As soon as I saw the title I knew what this one was and I had to click immediately! I'm so glad you wrote a version of this! and gave us the untold tengu side of the story.

But poor poor jealous tengu, left out in the cold al;sjdlskdjfk w-was I supposed to laugh at his pain, I wasn't was I, s-sorry tengu I kind of laughed.

the wind god conjures up a storm, just for propriety

with a legend like that, HOW CAN ONE RESIST. i would write dragon x old man, but i fear my brain is not so strong haha.

and no, you were not suppose to laugh at the tengu ): POOR TENGU. FOREVER ALONE, etc.

Pretty awesome horse god. I like that he was able to see the goodness of the girl, even though she was a peasant, and I'm glad they got to be together at the end.

Fantastic retelling. You've got some lovely turns of phrase in this as well, and I especially liked your handle on vivid imagery.
