I really can't stand how people write doctors in fanfiction:
Super-Hot-Guy has just been seriously whumped. SHG's family is in the waiting room, anxiously waiting to find out whether he will live or not.
Doctor comes out. "Are you SHG's family??"
"Yes, how is he, doctor?"
The doctor smiled. "Please, call me Randy."
WTF?!? No one cares what your first name is, buddy, and I really, really doubt that any doctor is going to say that to family members of a patient unless we're looking at a long-term care situation, or at the very least until after news on patient's condition has been given. And if I were a family member, it would piss me off if a doctor said that to me first. Ugh. It's really bad dialogue and bad writing, and I see it everywhere. Ugh.
