Because it is a distinct possibility that I may be the most petty man alive-seriously, that ship either had a jet turbine on the quarterdeck or was in the process of being dismasted.
I know she was an American naval brig; I believe she was an eighteen or so. What I really want to know is what signal she was flying. I recognized the Blue Peter, but that's not particularly helpful.
Hopefully, the picture I took of myself shaking my fist at the painting will be detailed enough for me to see what she was flying.
With any luck it'll turn out to be, "Assistance required; inexplicable winds."
