nmg is at Gark Villa today to oversee the installation of our French Windows (which also entails knocking out the wall under our current dining room window). The fitters ahve just turned up and the doors at not what we expected at all.
We asked for the widest doors they could do with side panels to take up the rest of the opening. The surveyor told us the doors would be approx. twice the width of the sidelights so we asked for a vertical glazing bar in each door to give the impression of six vertical panels of approx. equal width. However the doors the fitters turned up with are ony 1200cm wide instead of the maximum 1800cm wide and to quote both the head honcho fitter and the Spouse, they look bloody awful, 'like a prison'.
So frantic negotiations are ongoing with Safetstyle and the surveyor to find out what went wrong. And of course, I've left my phone on the sofa so nmg can't even send me a picture...
