Well, that's one way of being woken
Lying there in bed, dozing on and off since the radio turned on at 7, I had drifted in and out of conciousness during the hourly news, Sunday and the Sunday Service, relishing a lie-in for once without having backache or a sore hip or an actively scrambling garklet without really taking much notice of the broadcast. Then suddenly in the midst of what I thought was a usual CofE service out blasted, on a rather impressive and loud organ, the opening bars of the Stars and Stripes followed by the congregation singing with gusto. That is enough to rouse anyone from their Sunday morning doze and get them to act on their desire for a nice cup of tea by getting up and putting the kettle on. So thank you Radio 4 and St Thomas's Church, 5th Ave, NYC for getting me up this morning.
