Summary: Inoo Kei is a young criminal defense attorney, that was framed up and accused to have helped the mafia boss, Yaotome Hikaru. And this had marked the end of her career even before it started but Yabu Kota, a fine young attorney like she is and the prime minister's youngest son, helped her up to defend herself and create her name. She soon found herself in love with Yabu Kota, and their selves in an affair. And the relationship ended in a manner that had let her running out of Yabu's life, with an child that he was ignorant about. And years have passed, she was under Yaotome Hikaru possession because he had saved her child. Things became more complicated as Yaotome Hikaru found out her affair with Yabu Kota years before and he was ready to kill them both.

Chapter 9
It was dusk when Kei pulled over the Yabu's residence. Yuri had welcomed her with open arms but Kota was not yet around.
"Where is he?" she asked anxiously as they sat at the tea room,
"Oh, he'd be a little late. But we can enjoy a long conversation with tea, right?" Yuri smiled and she nodded "What are you going to tell him? You sounded so excited on the phone." Kei could not understand why she was suddenly feeling bad about the atmosphere. But she put it as a part of her pregnancy and smiled at Yuri happily
"I'm having Kota's baby" she said. She was too excited that shouting it to the whole world didn't seem enough.
She watched as Yuri blinked at her excitedly too, the younger one chuckled as she leaned back to her armchair and rested her hands on the armrest "Why, me too!" she beamed. And Kei's throat suddenly ran dry and she looked up abruptly
"Wh-what? That's not- Kota doesn't make love with you." she finally found her voice and she took deep breaths
"Oh really? And you believed him? We're in love with each other and-" everything was too confusing, and it attacked her head and abdomen
"You said you're going to divorce him and you love someone else." her voice was trembling and it was as if the beautiful doll in front of her peeled its real skin and turned out her real colour, a wicked one. Very wicked.
"Yes, to Kota and I did tell you that I fell in love with him the moment we met. Why would I divorce him? I didn't know that someone as smart as you wouldn't know that letting the most idealistic man ever go is impossible. Or you do that's why-"
"Have you told him?"
"I'm planning to, later when I sleep in his bed. It would be normal now." Yuri grinned "Are you okay? You don't look fine" she stood up from her seat and approached extending her hand
"Don't touch me. You monster." Kei hissed slapping her hand away
"Oh, isn't pregnancy really peculiar? You're calling me a monster now. But as for me, I haven't changed what I call you. Slut." she pouted, sitting beside Kei. "Everything falls properly now. I'm his wife and you're his whore. I'm giving him a daughter eight months from now like what he'd always wanted"
"Wrong." Kei whispered as she managed to stand up.
"What?"
"He wants a son first and not a daughter. Stupid." and she aimed at the door. Yuri was flabbergasted, she had always noticed Kota's softness towards little girls.
"Be careful on your way home. Driving is unadvisable for pregnant women. But I guess you wouldn't have it long" Kei did not hear the rest.

Kei fell asleep curled on her bed that night with a hand on her stomach. No dreams, no Kota, no baby. No future.
Her days continued, and she tried to make it normal. Takaki nearly kicked her out of her schedule to rest but she insisted staying. She didn't want to be by herself because if it happened she might end up reaching for Kota again.
"Let's have lunch?" Kota invited and she agreed without any further discussions. This had to be dealt immediately. Sooner and shallower.
"Kei..Yuri is pregnant. I didn't think she would be, I swear to god that was the first time I-" he looked tired and depressed. And she had every inch of her body urging to hug and comfort him and tell him that it was okay. She was okay. And she can wait. "Do you think we can wait a little longer and for the meantime, we'll see each other as many times as we can. I don't know what to do! I haven't slept for three days! Until Yuri's given birth we-"
"No." she interrupted him. She could feel his sincerity, and that he meant every word he was saying despite being disoriented.
"What? What do-"
"Yuri and your baby aren't going to disappear. It's me who would." she took a deep breath and it stung her when every shade of helplessness and pain coloured Kota's expression
"What? Wait..Kei..no. You don't mean-"
"It's over Kota. You and I are over." with that she stood up
"No Kei! Please! No! Don't do this-" he grabbed her hand and pleaded continuously. It was painful to see him in that state because of her but..she pulled her hand away "Not this Kei. Please I beg you" she did not hear the rest as she ran out of the restaurant.
She ran out of Yabu Kota's life.
