Kota made things harder for him that day.

When a company invited him out for a beach vacation party, Kei mentally killed himself for forgetting about the possibility of the Yabus being invited. Because if he had thought of that, maybe he would've made up an excuse to not come or maybe just ready himself.

"Aren't the coincidences too much already?" Kota chirped, walking next to him as they headed inside the villa.

Kei merely rolled his eyes at this, with lips twitching. The older guy though just watched in amusement as he changed into a totally different person, he greeted the hosts politely and thanked them gracefully as the key to his room was given.

He threw his bag to the bed, and plopped down on it. He must avoid Kota now, he couldn't afford to lose his cool once more. Especially now, the older guy was trying to come up with the topic of how weird it was for rich people to hold a beach party when it's nearly winter.

"Aha, so this is how you look like when you're alone" the taunting voice rang through his ears and he immediately opened his eyes, sitting up and crossing his arms against his chest as he frowned at his intruder. He watched as Kota locked the door behind him and walked close to his bed

"What are you doing here?" he asked, scooting away as Kota sat on the other end

"We're sharing a room, didn't you hear them?"

He didn't. And this was such a bad idea.

"Oh, you should've seen your expression just now. I was just joking" Kota chuckled wholeheartedly as he plopped down the bed as well, this time it was Kei's turn to sit up.

"Yabu, when will you get tired of this? What are you even here for?" he asked, pulling on his bag to start fixing his things.

"Till you accept that we’re friends already" Kota grinned turning to his direction "Is your father coming? My parents will come tomorrow." he said

"He's busy" he merely answered, although his father had told him about his expected arrival by that evening as well. He better push this annoying creature way before that happens though.

..

Kota had never attended something like this. Or maybe Japanese people are just too bored to be even doing this. It was just a few minutes after noon, yet the wind's chilly already. Of all places to decide spending the last days of autumn, would the sea be a choice.

Still he found himself walking by the sea shore, trying to feel the comfortable coldness of the sand against his feet. It was his first time to find out about that texture being nice when it's cold. Everyone else were still inside, probably busy of their business talks so he'd rather not join. He's here for a vacation and he wanted to be alone so it was better of this way.

That's why when he found Kei seated by a boulder, too far from the villa already; he had to doubt what he is seeing for a while. He rubbed his eyes, and still the figure is there. The sun's up so seeing a ghost is not a great choice at all.

"Coincidence is great!" he chanted happily getting up to the rough surface and approaching the pale guy now glaring at him. "What? This isn't your rock, is it? I don't see any Inoo Kei written in here" he pouted, and took the courage to walk closer.

"You just never really shut up." Kei rolled his eyes once more and just looked ahead

"I'll sit beside you so don't bite me" Kota said, taking a seat next to the pale and he just sighed as no words escaped the younger one. As usual. "What are you doing here? We're having lunch later, this place is too far from the villa"

"Trying to get some peach and silence. In short, trying to get away from you" Kei plainly answered with a sigh while hugging his knees. He took a deep breath and just looked ahead

"There must be some reason why you always want to be alone right? Aside from the fact that you're Inoo Kei, is there something else? It's too lonely to be you." Kota answered minutes later as the atmosphere started to be serious and warming.

"I love seeing waves hitting the gritty walls" he murmured in the end, hugging his knees tighter. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to tell Yabu about it for now.

"Why?"

"That's where I threw my mom's ashes when she was cremated" he said finally

Kota knew what reservation means. And at the very least he wanted to give Kei that thing. Maybe after all, the reason why he's being treated too differently is the fact that he never let the boy in peace when he gets the time to rest from the things he had to carry in his arms.

--

Dinner came and Kota just sat himself beside Kei on the long table. He would reply to the questions thrown to him once in a while, but overall they had a silent dinner. Socializing with these types of people wasn't as bad as he thought, it was pretty easy like he was just talking to his friends back in his school days but he had to take note of everything that he says.

He watched Kei walking in the shoreline again, that guy surely has some guts for going at that late time of the night and that type of weather. Somehow, with the latter's simple confession about his fondness over water, Kota realized that there are things in this world that you can't just get by asking and working hard for it, you still have to make the giver a reason to trust you what you're asking. And for Kei's case, maybe nothing will work out with them unless Kei sees him as a friend and not a rival to eliminate.

He was back to the boulder again, but Kota just frowned at the spot as he couldn't find Kei there anymore. It'd been more than an hour now since the pale guy got out of his sight, and when he went to look for him already, not a sign of him could be seen in the villa.

He walked further, and he just gulped as he realized that the even the villa's lights were out of his sight already. He looked around once more, trying to locate a figure…but shivered at every second he fails to find one.

It started with a light drop, then was followed by a more continuous one…and even before Kota knew it, he was already soaked and the fog went worse with the temperature. He could feel his feet freezing at every lifting he makes but he was too determined to find the other one that was supposed to be with him.

..

Kei hugged his body tighter as he tried blowing on his knees to at least get warm. His lips were trembling badly and his palms had nearly run white to the freezing temperature, he huddled even more as the door of the shack creaked open.

"Kei?" a familiar voice called out making him look up

Kota smiled as he finally found the younger one crouched in a corner of the creepy shack. There was a combination of shock and glee on the latter's eyes, but he focused more on how obvious he was shivering.

"Are you okay?" he asked, kneeling down in front of the pale one. He tried to dry his hands first before touching the other's arms but was swatted away

"Get your hands off me and leave me alone" Kei sneered at him angrily, but the shaking of his voice told the opposite.

"You're freezing!" Kota exclaimed as he was weakly thrown to the ground "You have to get yourself out of tho-"

"I'd rather die freezing than having your help. You're the reason anyway that I'm suffering this way"

"You will listen to me" Kota had enough of this, and he just grabbed on the latter's wrist forcing him down. And Kei could only cry out as he tried to fight back.
