Yabu Kota pushed his trolley out of the airport, wearing his sunglasses properly and smiling as he finally took a whiff of the country he'd missed so much, he looked around the people waiting for those who just came out, and smiled spotting a familiar lady standing at the back of the crowd

"Welcome home son" Mrs. Yabu greeted him with a hug, and he returned it willingly.

"How's it going mom?" he asked, wrapping his arm around her shoulder while her hand snuck around his waist. They walked to the black car waiting for them, and the new driver smiled at him too.

"Your dad's coming tonight"

"Dinner?" he asked, letting her hear the fluency he learned to use for years

"Yes, since we're kind of busy the past few days. Plus we're going to celebrate your coming of age, a little late though" like that was even something new. But her chuckle surely made her smile and he just looked outside.

He had lived in a style where he's free to do whatever he wants. It wasn't that easy to make new friends, but as he learned their language, it became easy especially with the potential skills he showed to everyone around him. From primary to high school, he excelled rather well.

He tried to date other girls as well, but his tastes were never satisfied. They were a little too conscious of themselves, but had manners that turns him off.

He entered the newly renovated room, and he smiled seeing some of the remnants of how it looked like fifteen years ago, when he was still seven and too innocent. He removed his sunglasses, and picked up the toys piled in the box. Back then, he felt so small seeing those toys and containers, but now even the plastic basketball court he used to struggle so much to shoot a ball in..was only up to his chest.

He looked outside the window, and smiled as the only thing that wasn't removed to make him remember of his childhood days in that mansion, is the playground. It still looks the same, no signs of it living to more than a decade. Probably they maintained it that way.

Then finally his eyes rested on the fence dividing them from the neighbor's residence. From where he was standing he could see just how big and grand it looked in the inside, a little bigger than their's honestly.

He was pretty he had entered that place before, he played with someone. He considered that someone as his closest friend. But that was too long ago already, the memories were blurry and he couldn't even remember the face and name anymore.

But one thing he was sure of, they're in a competition here and he will not lose to anyone who'd try to steal what his family had worked so hard for. He will be numbed one and he will penetrate the business world. That was the promise he never forgot to himself.

He closed the window and started picking out the attire he'd be wearing for the night.

Inoo Kei put his pen down and sighed heavily. The black bags under his eyes grew worse every night and the obviousness of his cheekbones were a little too obvious already. He looked more like a living dead. He started fixing his things when the door of his study room opened and it revealed his dad, staring at him coldly.

"Did you finish reviewing your materials already?" Mr. Inoo asked him coldly

"Yes father, I want to point some things up the next time we have a meeting." he nodded, reporting what he read

"You better not disgrace me Kei, you know how much your one wrong move can cost" he said before turning away and leaving him.

He stood up from his desk and went back to his bedroom, he washed his face before changing to his sleepwear and laying on his bed. Once the soft ground took his figure, he just sighed contentedly feeling all of his tiredness for the day at once. He glanced at the clock and saw that it was nearly four in the morning, at least tomorrow he could sleep till he wants since the next appointment he has would be the dinner party with some of his father's shareholders.

He lived a life where books, knowledge, intelligence and prestige were at top most. He was punished physically when he does something wrong back in his childhood day, but now that he's an adult he knew that his dad will not hesitate to disown him if he does something that's not with the plan.

He excelled in school and in everything that he did, he earned the fame but never the friends. His dad always told him that friends have no place on earth because in the end they'll still be the one to leave and take advantage of him

For all his life, Kei had been living to the expectations of others. He had no right to complain or say no when it's their reputation talking about. It suffocated him too much.

The long span of time that he had to suffer, and miss what life is all about other than being highly looked up to; was enough to make him feel anxious to get his hands on the family's business. By that time he could move on his own already and control things in his life. That's what he had been waiting, he wanted to be free.

He slowly opened his eyes hearing the alarm he set to wake him up. It was past six in the evening and thus he stood up to start preparing for the dinner.

…..

Kota sighed in relief as he arrived at the restaurant unharmed. He wasn't used on using right driver seat cars, but still managed to get there safely. He entered the classy restaurant with poise and confidence, smiling at the waitress that approached him.

"Yabu" he said but even before he was assisted to where the table should be, he already saw his mother seated by the window and looking at him directly.

"I can manage" he said and approached the table for three himself

"I'm glad you're here. Your dad's coming in ten minutes" Mrs. Yabu kissed him on the cheek as he leaned in, he sat himself in the middle chair and was offered with wine, as to which he nodded to accept.

"Excuse me for a while" he said, standing up again as he gulped the liquor. His mom nodded to him and thus he left for the comfort room. Wanting to wash his nervousness away.

But the moment he opened the door, he was met by the deep honey brown eyes through the mirror. He blinked at it continuously, trying to remember where he saw it before.

A/N: Oh yeah, everyone ignored my poll. Let's forget about that. Btw, my dad's new location is decided and he'd be leaving this March 2. It's still undecided if we're going to stay with my grandma where my baby brother is. Positive things to come, but negative is...I still haven't received the valentine's cards and we're leaving this house (poor barbie house, deserted once more) by monday, and will not be back until first week of April.

Anyway, I hope you liked this :)
