Field of Poppies
I keep running and the metal on metal crushing sounds keep getting closer. It's only a matter of time before they capture me and make me one of them.
A tiny sliver of sunlight breaks through the rubble and it's a beacon of hope that I will escape this nightmare.
Then there's only pain. Never ending pain. It's morning, noon and night. Soon time blends into one constant wail of agony.
Finally the pain stops and I'm running through a field of poppies. The sun is shining and the only sound I hear is laughter.
But I'm alone. Running. Always running.
