Failure
Run and hold his hand. A simple task under normal circumstances, but these were far from normal circumstances. Being chased by creatures hungry for children. Children were the species drug of choice.
Running for your life and looking out for your younger brother should never have been a responsibility placed placed upon him. The stakes were too high to be placed upon someone so young.
He'd never forget the look of disappointment and disgust on his mother's face and the look that was there everyday until he left home for the Time Agency.
Now he perfected the art of running and saving.
