Damned calendars

I thought we had calendars so that things didn't happen all at once. Turns out they're not doing such a good job. I was looking forward to my good friend's son's Bar Mitzvah, and it was only when I was answering the RSVP card that I realized it's the same day as my uncle's 100th birthday party, for which we've got family coming in from across the country. 100 vs. 13, yeah, not much of a choice. But then I finally realized that both events are the same Saturday as Capclave, which I'd been planning to attend since last year. And not once did I put all those dates together in my head to realize they were all exactly the same date. Aarrgghh! I hate it when that happens.

Sorry Zach; sorry Capclave; family, you'd better appreciate what I'm missing for you!
