I don't know why, but I hadn't seen much of the hilarious anime Ouran High School Host Club before I had the idea of seriously mischaracterising it. Video editing is always something that I've been interested in, but I'd previously given up at the first sign of difficulty. "OS crashed during install? Maybe I should try again in a few years."

Thanks for the praise, especially given your credentials! I am interested in getting this AMV (and possibly future ones) critiqued, but I don't to what degree I want to get involved. Twenty-five hours for three minutes seems like an expensive ratio to me. With twenty-five hours of photo post-processing, I could get more than three minutes' worth of decent photos. I realise that I would be able to improve my speed, but I also know for sure that "creative experimenting" would fill the difference. Maybe being a dabbler is safer.

Yeah, the lip syncing isn't perfect. I did all by eye in slow motion with no experience. Also, I wonder if YouTube dropped some frames. Some of it seems a little smoother in the source file, but most of it is pretty much as it should be. I guess that I could upload a higher quality version somewhere for posterity.

Do you have any advice for someone that is considering starting out?
