The Boy has requested a hat. Not immediately, but a hat for fall. We have decided that a hat that looks like a soccer ball would be completely awesome. Quick Googling brought up this pattern, which could probably be converted to a hat. I'm really excited about the prospect of figuring this one out, but I must refrain from casting on OMG-RIGHT-NOW! ^^;; What kind of yarn should I use? I think I'm going to do a test run with some spare Wool-Ease, but I'd rather not use that for the real hat. Patons Merino? Cashsoft (wouldn't that be yummy?)? Cascade 220? Something else? He apparently isn't wool-sensitive like I am, so I think I probably have a lot to choose from. (I'm leaning towards the merino.. yay, merino.)

In other knitting news, my first Quidditch sock has made it past the calf increases. This is good. I'm really beginning to doubt whether or not I'll have both of them finished by Phoenix Rising, though. But I won't have to continually stop and try the second one on, so maybe it'll go that much faster (I hope so!). Curse my long legs.. it is unfair when knitting knee socks.

I have silently been at work on my NbaT, and I have two sleeves finished and the first couple of rows of the back done. Gauge seems to be cooperating (I am forever afraid that this is all a trick, and that as soon as I finish the whole thing, the gauge will reveal itself to be completely off). The back is mostly mindless knitting, so maybe I can even knock that out soon. Maybe not this week, because I have a big paper due Monday, but next week seems like a good time for a nice breather to knit while I study.

One of the biggest reasons I'm excited about the semester ending is so I can getting some hardcore knitting done. :) Even if it's all hats and socks, I'll be happy. I've gotten so little done during the school year.
