Spring break has ended at Georgetown, and meeting-with-advisor time begins next week, but the Fall '09 schedule still isn't up yet. They activated the URL, but they haven't added links to the programs and courses yet. *impatient*
I emailed my advisor to introduce myself and to ask him about graduate school. I've decided over the last few months to move away from majoring in Chinese or East Asian Studies back toward linguistics, specifically applied linguistics. I feel like I can be creative and productive doing work in that field. I would be qualified to teach languages (or teach teachers how to teach languages) and to do research, which are the two things I'd like to make a career out of doing. I've made a preliminary list of schools with programs I'm interested in, as well as a (surprisingly short) list of things I'm looking for in a school. But I don't know where to go from there.
This whole process would have been a lot easier if I had known from freshman year what I wanted to study. But then again, I probably wouldn't know now what I want to study if I didn't do all of the things I have done since freshman year. ^_^
