Oh, Megatron will most definitely take care of him. He's a master manipulator, with far more methods at his disposal than pain and coercion. His goal from the start was to make Starscream overload; the "discipline" excuse was just a front (as it usually is in such cases). They've actually been lovers for millennia. This is not a budding relationship, merely a new twist on a well-established one. He knows how to handle his second-in-command after this.

In a twisted way, Megatron was thinking of Starscream's benefit the whole time. Starscream's barriers to enjoying the punishment were not pain, but pride, fear and shame. He hated the helpless feeling and was embarrassed as hell at having an audience. Megatron broke through those barriers, brought him to a state of pleasure where none of these things mattered, where even helplessness and humiliation became a source of arousal. He forced him to let go, to lose himself utterly to the moment without inhibitions. It was done largely selfishly, of course, as Megatron gets off on controlling people and this was the ultimate act of control. But it was Starscream who was satisfied in the end.

Mind you, this is a twisted-as-hell thing to do to your partner without consent - but this is Megatron and Starscream. Anybody who wants to see a healthy relationship can read about my Aerialbots. These two are messed up, and they do things all kinds of bass-ackwards, topsy-turvy and sideways. Most people (including myself) would be justifiably furious and probably end a relationship after such treatment, BUT Starscream is twisted enough to enjoy most of the fucked-up things Megatron does to him... eventually.

(Plus, subconsciously he must have known from the start that this would all work out in his favor, because I'll tell you a secret: If he wanted to get away from Megatron at any time, he could. All he had to do was fire his thrusters and Megatron would've been rolling on the ground with smoke coming off of his lap. Trust me, they're both aware of this.)

Now if you still wish to see the aftermath, of course I'll be happy to write it. ^_^

Re: Autobots, their view of Screamer has definitely changed after this. Several of them now have new fantasies of getting a turn with that aft, and they'll do whatever they can to encourage him. Remember, Megatron told Starscream what would happen "the next time he disobeys". That had a double meaning - Starscream now has complete control over when and whether he wants this to happen. If he decides he wants to feel the sting of Prime's palm, all he has to do is provoke Megatron again in circumstances similar to this one. Such calculation is a very Starscream thing to do. (And yes, a little variety will give him something to compare Megatron to, perhaps unflatteringly, next time Megatron wants to hold punishment over his head.)

All right, that helps. It was nowhere (unless I missed it?) made clear that they were established lovers, so I read it as first-time; the dynamic IS significantly different. That said, the point I wanted to see was Megatron caring about Starscream's well-being (whether it be actual care or just good employee management practices), and Starscream not savaged emotionally by humiliation he has no power to deal with (I often get the idea that he's quite insecure, under all the bluster, in many stories).

So yes, I would like to see afterwards, and whatever else you can come up with.

*bursts out laughing at the thrusters bit* That's awesome!

It is Megatron and Starscream. Do I get the idea I'm not the only one whose boundaries shift like a fault line in a magnitude-8.5 earthquake between humans and Transformers?

Nope, I didn't specify, because I figured people who wanted to read it as first-time could do so. But in my head, when I wrote this, they've had sex many times. I wouldn't call them lovers, least not in the typical sense. It's a complicated relationship. However, Megatron is not taking any liberties with Starscream that he hasn't before -- it's just the first time in front of an audience of Autobots.

Insecure, yes, but he's also got a masochist streak a mile wide. On one level, he likes to be humiliated and degraded. It hurts and embarrasses but it also excites him. Megatron wouldn't risk it otherwise -- last thing he needs is another reason for Starscream to try to kill him. And like I said, if Starscream really wanted out of there, he'd have been gone in a flash and Megatron would have been left with the humiliation (and very nasty burns). Unfortunately, making this clear from the start would've reduced the intensity and depth of the degrading experience, which is where the kink lies, so I had to make it look like Starscream was totally unwilling at first. Bit of an unreliable narrator, I am.

Trust me, Starscream was playing a part as much as Megatron. Much of his fear and humiliation was real, but it's the kind of thing he gets off on. His aberrant psychology means that what would traumatize or break most people has quite a different long-term effect on him. My "boundaries" in most relationships don't actually shift much between humans and Transformers -- except that I tend to write the latter as more promiscuous, but then, I think our species is way too uptight about sex anyway -- and I would never have Prime or Silverbolt or Ratchet, for instance, do something like this to a partner. But there are exceptions to every rule. Starscream is an exception to every rule. Megatron knows him better than anyone else alive, and I trust him to know what Screamer can and can't handle.

Still, I shall write the aftermath. Because I want you to see for yourself how Megatron exercises damage control.

*nods* It's very different, when you read it as a first-time thing, with no explanation of where they are in the spectrum of love/hate that Megatron/Starscream gets written on.

While I won't mind the lack of explanation beforehand, I'm glad to have it afterwards; angst-prone angst-phobe that I am, I solidly appreciate the clarification/fixing of the situation, both the explanation and the forthcoming fic.
