Challenge: May/June/July - Memories
Hey folks. I've not been around much lately but I'll admit I've been missing our show and the love we all had for it. As such, I know it's been a while since we've had a challenge here and I think it's time I fixed that.
ian_nikki was created 2 years ago this month and we opened our doors on the first of June so I think an anniversary celebration is in order. We celebrated our anniversary last year with a challenge themed "anniversary." This year to celebrate our show and to remember what we loved about it, I'm offering up the challenge of MEMORIES (as I've done or will do in my other communities.)
I know we didn't have a lot of time to get to know Ian and Nikki as a couple, but there was an undeniable chemistry there. Episodes like 6.08 - Ultimatum and the series finale left us with questions we wanted answers to... and here's your chance.
Writing fic? Take us back to when Ian and Nikki first met or the first time Ian asked her for a drink (or a baseball game as it were.) Put them further into the future and have them look back at how life has changed since that first moment. Let them reflect on favorite memories, as a couple or a relationship that didn't quite work out (for whatever reason.)
Want to make icons, videos, wallpapers? Show us your favorite Ian/Nikki moments (which I know there weren't nearly enough.) Piece together a story for us through moments from the show that helped us see the chemistry between these two gorgeous and intriguing characters. Pick your favorite memory from the two seasons we had Nikki and Ian coming to us on our TV screen every Friday night. Let us see!
To show some appreciation for the fandom, why not REC us some of your favorite Ian/Nikki fic? Got icons, videos, artists you just love? Tell us about them and show us their work! Bring back your favorite memories to this challenge so we can all remember what it was about this show that made it so freaking fantastic.
There are some other challenges happening this summer. To make sure every one has enough time to participate, I'm keeping this challenge open until 11:59pm (wherever you are) on JULY 31st. That's right - May, June, and July... think of your fondest memories of Ian/Nikki and Numb3rs and share the love. Please read our rules before posting and remember that each entry should include the tag "challenge" as well as any additional tags needed (e.g. fic: genre, wallpaper, video). Have fun!! (And who knows, maybe even your mod will come up with something. *smiles.)
NOTE: Unless there be vehement objection, I would also like to open this challenge (and possibly this community) up for Nikki fic & art. ian_edgerton is a lovely place for Ian here in LJ, but Nikki doesn't really have a place to call her own. Rather than open another community, I'd love to open the door for Nikki gen, het, or slash fic & art here. It's your community so you tell me. But if you'd like to show us your favorite Nikki moment without Ian for this challenge, I'm okay with it. :)
