LiveJournal is a sad sad place...

Feb 03, 2004 02:50

We come here, post our lives and expect people to actually care.

Most of the time, I'd say that we don't.

And what does this gain us?

You want to care? Take someone out for coffee, buy them a beer, go out on a walk.

I'm out of this joint... Later fools...

Farewell, my friend. I'll see you when I see you...

(Actually, that will be in a few hours, but I like the way it sounds. Plus, it's in the real world, which I prefer more than LJ or being online period. Thing is, we've done all three examples and hanging out is far better than reading a mere journal.)

Oh, I'm probably not gone for good... But that's just the way I honestly feel about this shit-hole... And it's not the beers I finished talking...

I know I've learned so much from this place though. despite being just an online journal community, I feel like I've gained so much from all my years on diary communities. maybe I'll write my own entry about it eventually.

Oh, for me to not find any good from LJ would be a lie... I originally came here at a time in my life when I needed it... Now? I see LiveJournal isn't what people honestly make it out to be, and well, for that reason I won't be renewing my paid account, won't be around here really, or spending a lot of time here...

As to everything else? I'll probably post one last friends only entry or use this to contact people or ask questions through the UCF LiveJournal, but this place won't be what it once was to me...

The crowd of people who use LJ now has changed too. It's become overrun with camera whores and emo kids and whiney teens. So many communities are now just scene kids talking about bands. I still read, but I don't really have much to say.

It's always been that group, and it'll always be that group...

Society has become plugged in...

Plug in your cable to your TV, printer, computer, PDA, cell, electric guitar, headphones, MP3 player, and just live.

People need to unplug and see that there's a sun, birds, coffee, beer, smiles, laughs, and words that come from mouths not from computers...

So much to see, and yes, we can see it in pictures or AVIs or MPEGs or hear it in MP3s when we can't afford the plane tickets to go there ourselves and live, but what... They become other links that we just pass along to a friend with a "Dude! Did you see insert link here?"

I'm glad that LJ and AIM connects me to so many people in such a brief amount of time and I can have this window and 4 AIM windows open, talking to people who are down the road or down the hall or across the state or whatever...

But sometimes just sitting down and actually smiling to someone and living it? Can't top it and can't touch it...

I'm not a fool :(

And it's healthy to give up livejournal. However, if I did, I'd be totally lost on what's going on with my friends, because nobody CALLS ME anymore! >:O

Grrrrr . . .

When people call me, they can reach me... I return my calls and am pretty good about getting back to people... I'm really busy, though...

Currently, this is what's on my plate: classes, homework, time with Sarah, time with friends, IM floor hockey, reading and writing for a new EP/Songs/Album, working with a female vocalist's music, producing music for other musicians, and also teaching guitar lessons. In addition to all of this, I'm also looking at taking voice lessons. So yeah, there's a lot that I'm working with and a lot that I'm doing...

I'm around, though... Call, and I'll get back to you, honestly... I'm telling everyone that, because I'm trying to spend time with people, and I'm trying to call people as well and spend time with whomever...

Take care, darlin'... Catch you around...
