We're back. First of all, let me just say "wow." New York was totally freakin' awesome!! I don't even know where to begin to explain everything. New York lived up to my expectations in pretty much every way. I knew it would be a very awesome place but under that specticle, there is dirt and grime. It was awesome seeing the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building,Times Square, Ground Zero and Zarina;s favorite, the Chrysler Building. It's nearly imporrible for me to convey how I feel about the entire experience, but it is truely one that I will never forget. I must say that the absolute best part of everything was that I had my Zarina there with me.. no.. no. The absolute best part of everything was that I was there with her. Like I said to her the other night, she is the reason I joined Journalism club (and therefore, went on this trip), so I owe her a lot. Having her there, even when she was busy doing other, more important stuff, felt nice. It isn't everyday that you get to spend 6 days with your special someone thousands of miles away from home. Now that I look back on the experience, I realze that it was very liberating. When I got back home, it suddenly hit me that I would rather be back in New York. I truly loved the entire experience, even the stupid, stupid portions of it. I am speaking of this last week as if it was glorious and grand and for the most part, it was, but that analysis is merely Hellenistic. Under that analysis, there were some very awful portions to the trip that I would like to forget and others that i would like to erase entirely. I have to say that everyone in the group proved to be unreasonable on at least one occasion. Our advisors, however, were quite unreasonable nine times out of ten. In the end, I lost much respect for the both of them. In reality, Zarina was the true advisor. I honestly believe that. She is a marvelous leader. I have never seen anyone be such an attentive and openminded leader, not even when I take into account all the other leaders I have encountered. She's great. One thing that did suckkk was that I got sort of sick on.. Friday, i think. I forget which day it was, but yeah, I got like, a major fever and headaches. She was there to take care of me, so I got better, but there is some sickness lingering, so yeah. The subways are insanely dirty and disgusting. Oh, boy. I had to wear a special "subway glove" to hold onto the railings, or whatever. It was gross. One stupid part was that we didnt get to see a Broadway show. There were too many conflictiing opinions, so yeah. Sucks. Now, I must get to my massive amounts of hw. Ugh. Reality has suddenly been shoved into my face. On a posi tive note, I am pretty sure the dry spell between Zarina and myself has finally ended. Thank God. Let the flood gates open!
