Wanting a breather from life as an actor-model, Mr Lawrence Wong decided to take to the skies about two years back.
"I'm glad I did it. I know it sounds cliched, but I really learned a lot," says Lawrence, 25, of his stint as a flight attendant. It was a rare opportunity, he says, to go to many different countries, among which were those that are seldom on the radar of most tourists, like Karachi and Pakistan.
"They're very different from Singapore, in terms of the standard of living, the environment. It's quite shocking to see the poverty of some countries in real life.
"You may see it on TV or read about it, but it's very different when you see it in real life," says Lawrence.
He recently left his job as a flight attendant, and while he's back to modelling and acting, the former star of TV series @Moulmein High is trying something new at the same time - starting a business.
"I always had a dream of being my own boss, so thought I should work on it,"says Lawrence, who is keeping what he is working on a secret for now.
"I want everything to be perfect before I start it."
