http://www.samesame.com.au/ Finally, a gay person in this year’s Big Brother house! 28 year old Nick, a nurse from Victoria who describes himself as vain, arrogant and self-absorbed, won his way in last night by wrestling around in a pile of Starburst lollies - gotta love product placement - to find a golden key. He entered the house halfway through the housemates’ pantomime dressed as Goldilocks.
It didn’t take long for his sexuality to come up. Travis asked him if he was married or single. “Very much single,” he replied.
A little while later a very curious Travis asked, “Are you a gay bloke Nick?”
When Nick said yes, Emma was thrilled.
“We’re so glad to have you here. It’s about bloody time [we got someone gay in the house].”
Later in the sauna with Zoran, TJ and Bodie, TJ asked Nick, “So you’ve never had and interest in girls?”
“I’ve been there.”
When asked who he thought were the hottest male housemates, he named Thomas and
Bodie.
“I’ll take it as a compliment, thanks buddy,” Bodie says.
“If you can’t acknowledge someone of the same sex is attractive then you have issues,” says Nick.
The golden key stunt is causing a bit of controversy. 100 contenders won their way to the first stage of selection through a competition run by confectionery manufacturer Starburst. Early promo shots of the 100 featured a diverse group of winners, including some large people.
According to Behind Big Brother, the final five were apparently chosen at random by Big Brother, however they noted that the final five chosen were “three young skinny blonde girls, a brunette of the same and a token flamboyant gay man.”
