Been updating quite frequently recently. A lot of things to share that's why! haha.
Kristel (turning 4 this year) and Brandon (turning 2!)
They're both my students! =)) Kristel's a girl who seems quiet in front of strangers and during class she doesn't really talk or interact with me so I was quite surprised to see her singing and dancing along during class last week! I think she's just not very comfortable with new people but I hope she'll interact with me more after a few more sessions! =D
Brandon, on the other hand, appears to be more smiley than her sister, and as quoted by her father after his Japanese class today, " This boy arh. He's the only one who cannot sit still during class!" Haha all of us laughed upon hearing that. So funny but cute.
They love to frown a lot but they look equally cute when they frown!
I was just reading Kristel's and Brandon's mum's multiply site and all the different entries brought so many smiles and laughters!
I know its not right of me to copy and paste her mummy's words here but I just find them too cute and want to share! I'm sure she's too nice to mind (that's if she ever chances upon this haha), and anyway I am sharing the good things! =DD
And I know I'm too young to say this, but I would want to pen down the different milestones and feelings and take lots of pictures when I become a Mummy myself next time! hahaha. :D
Happy reading!
A Magical Moment
A queen-sized bed for 3 persons.
Kristel was lying in between Mel and myself. We were all cozy in the dimly-lighted air-con room, getting ready to sleep under our comfy quilt. I whispered to Kristel, "Good nite darling. Sweet dreams!" and closed my eyes. A few moments later, I felt the little girl moved towards my face. She kissed me at my lips and said "Good nite mummy". My heart skipped a beat. I was totally touched!!! This was the 1st time my little Kristel initiated to kiss me.
Mel pouted out his lips, asking Kristel for a kiss too. But guess what? Kristel pushed him away, saying "nope!" ahahahha.... I had a good nite sleep... :)
Kid's Talk
Me: "Do you want to join mummy & daddy for a wedding dinner?" Kristel: "Where?" Me: "At a hotel." Kristel: "Again?"
Me: "You love mummy more or daddy more?" Kristel: "I love mummy more & daddy more."
Mummy lying on bed in air-con room. Kristel came in and asked, "Mummy, why you on the air-con? You must save electricity you know? Next time on the fan."
Kristel came out of air-con room and asked fiercely, "Who come out never close the door?? Is it you (point at me)? Is it you (point at daddy)? You & you i don't give you sticker, I give Brandon & Auntie Leen sticker."
6.30am Brandon & Kristel woke up for milk. After drinking, Brandon refused to continue to sleep. Kristel told mummy, "You take care of Brandon ok? I go back to sleep."
These were some of the moments when Kristel just made me laugh or smile in my heart. There were many other times, but I really cannot remember the exact words she said as I wrote this blog. :)
A Hug Resolved It All
This morning, Kristel ended up fighting with Brandon over a toy, which is very common nowadays. I cannot recall exactly what she did wrong... I was hitting her lightly on her palm, asking her to stop fighting. Instead of stopping, she hit me back! I was mad! I hit her again. She hit me back! I was really mad. Hit her harder. She hit me back harder too! Hit her, hit me, hit her, hit me. This went on a few more times. This notty gal got me REAL mad!!! I raised my voice and scolded her. Typical reaction: she cried really hard.
When we reached her school, I got out of the car. Was still angry with her. I could tell that Kristel knew she's in the wrong. She did not dare to come near me. While waiting for Daddy to bring her to school, she just looked at me a few times, seemingly trying to see what wld be my reaction to her. I continued to "ignore" her.
Before they leave, Daddy asked her to give me a hug (our usual practice). I relented and gave her a BIG TIGHT hug. She hugged me tightly too. I told her Mummy still loves her a lot and asked her not to behave badly again. She started tearing and sobbing... Oh no, this got me really guilty for ignoring her earlier on. She must have felt remorseful. I hugged her once more and quickly distracted her with something else before she started crying loudly.
Through this experience, I realised that Kristel has grown up a lot.... :)
Singlish - Be Careful
As good parents, have always tried to ensure that our little kids speak proper English. So whenever i hear Kristel say "my one, ....la, .... dun have what, ...loh" etc etc. i would try to correct her. Not knowing that Singlish is very much "into" us Singaporeans, we adults actually "commit" these mistakes as well. And now, its Kristel coming back to me saying, "Mummy, cannot say la". ^_^
The ultimate: I commented on Kristel's new hipster boy-leg panty and exclaimed, "sexy man". Kristel rebutted immediately, "I'm not MAN, OK!" I cant help but burst out laughing.
=D
Aww. .
and, look at Kristel's frown! lol.
How lovely. =))
So tell me,
how can anyone dislike children?
=D
With lots of love,
yun.
