God is amazing.
i soo did not want to go to my mexico meeting today. i was really tired from work (more about that later), and was also debating whether to go to mexico or not. i just felt like i didn't fit in, even though i love the church. too "oc" for me. i went anyway. the minute i stepped in the room, it was like God saying, "i want you here." we watched a dvd of previous mexico trips, and i knew He was sending me.
then we divided in ntwo teams. there will be two houses to be built. i only knew one girl, janelle, from my small group. of course, she and i were put on different teams. then a girl and her boyfriend sat next to me. her name is lauren, her boyfriend steve. lauren was very personable and chatted w/ me right away. she asked if i wanted to ride w/ them to mexico, and also offered to pick me up from my apartment (a huge huge huge answer to prayer, as i didn't know how i was going to get there. we had to be at the church at 5am and i didn't feel i could ask liz. my dad offered to drive me, but it is 50 miles from covina!) anyways she is a new Christian and i love her spirit. the three of us got along instantly. also, we happen to be sharing a room together which is great! God works in the craziest ways.
the rest of my team seems so great, too. i am feeling a lot better about all of this.
please keep the team in your prayers.
*safety while driving to mexico, especially at the border (i hatehatehate the border).
*safety while building
*team unity... many of us are new to the church and don't know anyone. please pray this trip will foster new friendships
*please pray that we remember why we are going... though fellowship is great, we are here to serve first and formost.
*please pray for the people of el nino.

augh i'm late for church as always.... i'm a heathen.
