33DC Day 3: Tape Mani
Sinful Colors Hazard + Salon Perfect Cafe Ole

I've been wanting to try this chevron-striping-tape technique for a while, so this was perfect timing for my jumping in the 33DC! I didn't have time yesterday to start with Most Used Color, because I was in class all day and couldn't take photos. But I used my most used color anyway - coral. I know, you're probably thinking what about all that greige you have?? Well, frankly, if you don't count the time in college when greige was ALL I wore, the color I actually do wear the most often is coral. I've worn at least 3 or 4 corals in the past few months, and even had it on my toes for a while. I adore me some coral!

So anyway, for the tape mani I decided to try the multi-sized lines popping bright coral in Sinful Colors Hazard with a background of mocha. I just bought Salon Perfect Cafe Ole - I didn't include it in the collection picks post because, well, I didn't pick it right off. I initally thought it was a dupe of China Glaze Ingrid, but upon examining both, it's not really. And I love coffee names, so there ya go. I adore the rich brown and the slight shimmer of Cafe Ole with the brilliance of Hazard!

Reviews: Sinful Colors actually makes several corals, each slightly different, which impresses me. Hazard however I feel hits the mark perfectly with an almost-neon orange-pink, as opposed to the lighter pinker shades and true neon orange. Best of all it's $2, so it's a staple in my frankening collection. Sinful Colors tend to be a little thick, and consequently not as self-leveling, but you can't beat SC for color variety! A

Salon Perfect Cafe Ole is NOT a dupe of Ingrid, though there may be some comparisons out there. compared to Ingrid, I've noted in the store, this has a finer, browner shine to it, and it's also a bit warmer, more golden brown than Ingrid's smoky SC Nirvana hue. I like the warmth of this glimmer, even if it's a bit hard to see except in direct sunlight, and this warm brown was perfect paired with a coral, esp for autumn! A
