Sorry had to finish my title
So yeah, title about explains it. Java isa beast that no man nor woman of sound mind should ever attempt to conquer. It is, as you might know, an object oriented computer programming language, but as you might not know it is also a ritualistc torture device created to drive college coeds to the brink of insanity with slumped over shoulders fingersgluedto a keyboard and sore eyes pasted to a bright monitor often in a dimly lit room.
I am absolutely disgusted with this language. It could be easy, really it should be easy as a fucking 100 lvl course!!! I'm notstupid, and I can HTML (along with half theworld population right?)So Java shouldhave been easy, right?
WRONG!!!! Oh how wrong I was. This class is giving me nightmares, and possibly preventing me fromgraduating.I'm now working my ass off to try to pull a freaking D grade.... Me. I'm the one who has seriously put *absolutely no thought* into any of her school work since 3rd grade yet could easily pull a 3.0...
Anyways back to thesubject of Java. In its simplest form, ya know 1 building block, or a lego, it iseasy enough for 1st grader to grasp, but add in methods exceptions and a ton of parameter and scope rules and you've got a recipe for disaster and long sucky nights. Let meput it this way: The legos are awesome! What's not so awesome is this kit to make a life sizedlego R2D2 and someone at the factory forgot the instruction sheet!!!!
So java at its building blocks(legos) is decent at best. The assignments (kit) that the instructor(someone at the factory) give us to build are sooooo far from what we are given. We aregiven the legos and the pictureof thefinished R2D2 and told to figureit out. Much easier said than done.
Java is ruining my life, not entirely but this week alone I've spent 7 hours in the IPL (introductory programming lab, fully stocked with TAs) alone, not to mention at least 5 more hours mulling over the assignment at home, getting stuck and not being able to fix it myself.
I wish I had a Java TA in my bedroom, I'd keep her in my closet and I'd walk her and feed her and clean her cage everyday! And in return she would be my on-call Java homework helper/checker.
Java had seriously impacted my life as of late in a very negative way. I have less time for friends, and even other homework. I do poorly in my other classes because I dont have enough time to do homework for my other classes. I eat at irregular intervals because I stay lateat the IPL and being a poor college kidcant afford to trot to theAve and get even a jimmyjohns sandwich (not that I'd have time even though they have the fast sandwiches) so I have to wait till I get home to eat. And I haven't been to thegym in 2 months, I feel sluggish and unproductive after doing a 3 month stint of 4 day a week gym visits. And due to my inacticity my sleep has been suffering. When I am home because of lack of seraton (from my lack of exercise) I get sleepy in the middle of the day, so what do I do? I nap! Then what happens? I can't sleepat my normal time and byebye sleep schedule!
So to make a long story short: friends don't let friends program Java.
