Anyway.
Yesterday I rode with Mandi and Rachael to Midway in Chicago, to see Mandi off on her first ever flight. She went to New Orleans, opting to spend her tax returns on time with old friends and go to the spot where the ashes of her friend who killed himself were scattered and say the goodbye that was denied her.
I couldn't go, really, because I have to work and I still haven't done my tax returns, and hadn't asked off.
But then we got to the airport, and I looked up how much money I have in my account (thanks, Droid!) and thought to myself "hell, if there's any last-minute tickets left, I could totally get one."
Of course, that would mean leaving both my jobs in the lurch, and conceivably losing them both.
But I seriously and secretly thought about it.

I decided just to make a joke about it on FaceBook.
But since getting back in the car --and not waiting the hour or so to see if any last-minute tickets were available-- I find myself wishing I'd just gone ahead and fucking done it. Or at least tried and failed.
Travelling at the last second, with just the clothes on my back, sounds like it would've been a downright adventure. Something I would've done when I was younger.
And I would've actually met people, and possibly gotten a line on a job or something.
So... April Fool.
Although today I found out I'll be getting more hours and possibly even a raise. So I guess being responsible isn't all bad.
