Holy starfish batman, a public post!
See, I've been doing some thinking lately, and I've decided that I will continue to leave my fandom-related posts public. The reason I went friends only was to separate "real life" entries from fandom entries, and I lost sight of this during the latest round of fandom drama. So I've come to the conclusion that if some people are so butt sore over other people's opinions on a TV show that they have to go their LJs and mock them elsewhere, that's not my problem. Fandom is a hobby for me, a way to pass the time when I'm not at school or work or otherwise out living my life. This journal is a medium to share my thoughts and speak my mind. I leave fandom-related entries public simply because, should anything I say offend anyone, they are free to respond.
I don't seek out conflict, although I will not run from it should someone bring it. I have never posted anything potentially inflammatory anonymously. Really. You can choose to believe me or not; I don't really care. The people whose opinions matter to me know better. I simply believe that you should stand behind your words, not hide behind a friends lock or anonymous post. If that makes me "wanky" or an "attention whore," so be it. I'm fine with it, because I'm comfortable enough with who I am that I don't need to gain the approval of people in an online fandom for a TV show. Yes, that's right. All this over -

I sincerely hope this is the last time I'll have to write an entry like this, because I would truly rather enjoy fandom than engage in bitter wars over whose opinion is the least "batshit" or who's got the biggest e-cajones. I have no desire to discuss this matter further, although if you must, the public posts in question remain open. Meanwhile, I'm moving on. I just started a new job and am tired as crap, and would much prefer to veg in front of the computer with my peppermint foot massage and my Prison Break DVDs than fap about fandom anymore. Thank you and goodnight.
