He gestured to the rose with long fingers, smiling softly at the sight of it. "Is that for me?"

A hand came up behind his head and removed the dark blue ribbon from the mass of grey strands. He ran his fingers through his wet locks for a moment, then looked to Valjean. "You look well, love." He reached over and brushed his fingers over Valjean's cheek. "How have you been?"

Closing his eyes contentedly, Javert purred in a soothing, rhtymic fashion. He was thinking as he purred; thinking of how he might propose marriage to Valjean again, and if it was a good time to even ponder it. However, he was curious to his lover's reaction.. was it even the right time?

At that moment, however, he was perfectly content, moving away momentarily only to draw a chaise longue closer to the fire in place of his chair. "Perhaps a change of seating arrangement, my dear?"
