Nostalgic, as usual

Picture it. Summer, 2007. Both Savanna(h)s, Katlyn, and Cov, waking up to our morning (which was everyone else's afternoon) on an astoundingly beautiful day and heading down to the river, Mountain Dew bottle of vodka in hand. We used to put our phones and our cigarettes in ziploc bags to avoid calamity, a particularly innovative idea of Katlyn's. Long, illustrious hours spent lounging on the sun-bathed rocks, slipping into the water to cool down whenever we felt the need, sipping from our plastic bottles at our leisure. La Vie Boheme personified.

It's a perfect day, and if I could be anywhere, it would be that river. I know it won't ever be Summer '07 again, but days like this, my home calls to me. Even now I can almost feel the hot stones on my back, the cool water teasing my feet.
