No no please book nerd as much as you like!

Dorian Gray was the first book from that list that I read. I LOVED it. What quote are you getting? There are so many great ones, Wilde was so sharp-witted (although I'm finding that 'The Importance of...' sometimes puts form over function...I think he devoted too much time and space in the play to being witty. I find it detracts from the story and the characters...have you read it?)

I think my favourite quote from Dorian Gray is:

"Ah! realise your youth while you have it. Don't squander the gold of your days, listening to the tedious, trying to improve the hopeless failure, or giving away your life to the ignorant, the common, and the vulgar. These are the sickly aims, the false ideals, of our age. Live! Live the wonderful life that is in you! Let nothing be lost upon you. Be always searching for nwe sensations. Be afraid of nothing...With your personality there is nothing you could not do. The world belongs to you for a season."

I love the last sentence so much.

I know quite a few people who loved Catcher in the rye in their angsty teenage years but have read it since and think it's actually a bit shit...We'll see.

Thank you for your recommendations though, feel free to book geek at me anytime!
