maybe I just don't understand international football, but I think it would do well with a video review system of some sort. If a play gets hit in the shoulder and falls down but pretends to cry and hold his face to draw a record, he should be suspended. That's just me maybe
And Superman 3-D gets a B from me
I've changed my mind an hour or two after posting above, it gets a C+ at best. I really really wanted to love this movie. Those of you who are close with me, as Martin put it on Sunday know...Martin I can't remember the exact words...but they were good, anyways its kind of the same thing with the Star Wars prequels. Don't go start a movie with the old 70s font and John Williams thing, get me excited then give that for the next 2 and half plus hours. Yes its entertaining, yes its ok, but the writers should have known better. Fine the old superman movies were spectacular but in all the history of the character, the comics, the TV series, the cartoon, the movies, Lex vs. Superman will always be a terribly one sided fight. Either Kryptonite is involved or it isn't. Now I'm not saying that Lex Luthor is a sucky villian, he's a great one but you have to use him effectively (and Kumar being in the movie at all was just distracting).
Yes Superman is more than about just flying around and catching villians but this movie needed Metallo or some powerful flunkie of Luthor's to throw things around with. The Lois Lane plotline, weak very weak. Make up your mind, pick a direction and stick with it.
Quick review on the 3-D for those who saw it regular, 3-D scenes, farm flashback, plane crash, boat, and end. Looked nice and not super "in your face" but you can't have the whole screen shaking and expect the 3-D to look nice. I will commend the newer technology, your eyes don't burn from watching it anymore. No more blue and red
But to say something nice, I can't find anyone who doesn't think that Brandon Routh was perfectly cast for the role and did a great job. Spacey was good too.
Maybe this would be a good idea for the sequel?
