Today, I extra love my kids and breastfeeding. Elisabeth woke up this morning, and I tried to stick my boob in her mouth to get her back to sleep. I of course thought it was 6:30 in the morning and much to early to get up, when in reality it was nearly 8, so she was wide awake! She was ready to get up and go, get the milkies away from me! So, she blew raspberries at my boob, lolol.
When she woke up this morning at 3:30, and I went to fetch her from her crib, I ran into Andrew, just coming into our room to get his Daddy to help him go peepee. Yay, Andrew! yay for realizing you can get out of bed and tell us you need to pee. It's ok!
Because we woke up late, we were rushing rushing rushing to get ready and out the door to school. Ellie was not nursed at all. at school, she had smiles for everyone. She and I went to Whole Foods (my maiden voyage, omg) and had ladies fawning over her in every aisle. Cracking smiles all the way :) As I was standing in front of the soap (where can I get plain goats milk soap??) a woman started chatting about my Beco, her age and its awesomeness, starting solids, etc. At one point she thought I was wanting to be done with nursing, when i meant feeding solids is nothing but a PITA, and I think she nearly had a heart attack. Turns out she's a LLL Leader at the group I have started attending :)
After a failed trip to Wal-Mart, and pumping my own gas (I am a champ at not needing gas until Andy is driving), we went home. I sat down to finally nurse poor hungry, yet happy and smiling baby. I pulled my shirt up and she just went at it. Except, she went at my belly. She moved her little mouth all over my belly, looking, looking, looking. I had to pull her back so she could see the error of her ways. So funny.
At whole foods, I got Kiss My Face peach flavored lip balm. It's divine.
When we went back to retrieve Andrew, I chatted with the substitute teacher he has through next week. Her son is also in his class, and she has an 8 month old daughter. Hi, friend! Her son had a tantrum when she said it was Andrew's turn to play with the Lego train that Andrew had built, which made me so glad for my fairly even tempered boy. I can count the number of real live temper tantrums on one hand, and they all involve leaving the Thomas the train table at Barnes and Noble.
Ms. Stephanie told me that he accidentally hit Charlotte in the face, and went to give her a hug, kiss on the cheek, and say I'm sorry without being prompted. And he only has lashed out hitting at Zach, when Zach was being too rough with him. Self-defense. Obviously need to learn that you can't do that, but thank goodness he isnt the one starting things. One of our big worries going in to school.
They are learning jingle bells for the Christmas Program. His favorite part is to yell HEY! and he practices shaking the bells when he sings.
He also can sing Jesus Loves Me and do the signs/hand motions to go along from Sunday School and it is the most darling thing ever.
Andrew will be 3 in 4 weeks, and Elisabeth 6 months in 10 days. Can I just stop time right here?
