Totals for October:
Drabbles: 12 (including four in the bunny verse)
The muse was only chatty in 100-word bursts last month. But, happily for me, October marked a return to the
Starting Over ’verse, which I hadn’t dabbled in since June. I’ve been wanting to revisit it for a few months now; it was good finally doing so, even if only in drabble form.
Looking back on all the drabbles, I think my favorite was probably “Switch,” because I really liked the premise itself, with season-four Sam making a really awful choice where Dean’s concerned.
Most of what I wrote this month was either crack or humor. Only one piece -- a drabble -- wound up being dark. Apparently I was feeling playful in September. :)
Drabbles
SwitchSummary: Sam makes a choice. Set sometime during season four. Written for the
100-ghosts prompt: face the music.
Wake and SeeSummary: Once the fever took hold, Dean’s dreams sucked out loud.
But Not For UsSummary: Most of all, they wanted to save each other. Written using the
100-ghosts prompt: tall tale.
We Are But Flesh and BloodSummary: Sam can’t decide what’s worse. The hunger, or the thirst. Set shortly after “Dead Man’s Blood.”
What Goes In …Summary: Definitely not one of their finer moments.
But Never SatisfiedSummary: Sam wakes alone, and it takes a good minute before he can push the panic down enough to function. Written based on a
100-ghosts picture prompt, the second photo shown
here.
Hunter, HuntedSummary: Sam hasn’t called in five weeks, and that ain’t good. Sequel -- dark sequel -- to
But Never Satisfied.
DefinitionSummary: Dean picks out his Halloween costume, but he isn’t entirely satisfied. Drabble, set in the
Starting Over ’verse when Dean is a preschooler.
Drabbles, bunny ’verse
It’s Always, Always the Quiet OnesSummary: Sam’s got a problem.
The Family WaySummary: It’s time to leave the warren, but not before Sam makes an important promise.
Happy Happy Joy JoySummary: They’re saved, they’re saved! (Or are they?)
… Make the BunnySummary: No, Dean doesn’t have freakin’ weird dreams. Why do you ask?
