My Dreamwidth paid time lapses in three days, and I'd really rather it didn't. So, what am I doing? That's right, I'm whoring out my needle and hooking skills for paid time.
EDIT: Some anonymouse has paid for six months time! Thank you, internet friend! I am STILL OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS, since our bills are large and our funds small.
I'm willing, able, and even eager for some small projects that will keep my paid account going. I have Ravelry's extensive library of free patterns and a considerable stash of yarn to dip into. What I need from you lot are projects that you are willing to pay for.
If you want to know what sort of things I've done in the past, check out my
Flickr, or, if you have a Ravelry account, my
Projects.
Things that I will need to know:
* Colour, texture and size preferences/requirements. I may need you to measure yourself (or the recipient, if not yourself) for items like hats.
* Allergies. If you are allergic to dyes, or to wool, or any other fibre, I need to know in advance so that I can use alternate, hypoallergenic yarn. If I make a project without knowing this, I may accidentally produce an item you cannot use.
Things that you will need to be aware of:
* Time. All of my items are handmade. This means that they take time to make and perfect to the point that I am happy with them. Also, since they will be posted from Australia, they may take some time to get to you. For example, for air mail, two weeks between Australia and the USA is average.
* Money. Postage, in particular, international postage, costs money. I am happy to negotiate whatever postage method you prefer, but I cannot afford to cover the price of postage myself. As you would have to if you bought an item from any other online source, postage is additional to the cost of the item made, and will vary depending on weight, destination, and speed of shipping.
* First come, first served. I will only be taking a limited number of commissions, and the later customers will have to wait longer for their items than the earlier requesters. I'm only one person, and however fast I knit or crochet, there will be a delay.
* Overflow. Once I meet a certain amount, I'll buy my paid time. Anything over that will go on things like the phone bill, flea/worming treatments for the dogs, weekly groceries. These are all necessary things that we struggle to cover on our pensions. If you would prefer to not have your money go towards these things, then by all means, I am happy for you to pay for LJ time for me instead.
* Payment. Paypal, since it's easiest for most people. If you'd rather another method, let me know and we can work something out.
* Limited placement. I can only make a small amount of items. See above: I'm only one person. If anyone misses the cut-off and is still interested, and willing to wait, however long it takes, then we can work out terms. I'm fine with that.
