so we've had record amounts of rain fall in the past two days. i haven't heard offical totals but i can tell you its been raining buckets for 2 days now. and guess what that means for us? we've got a leaky basement and its flooded. that wouldn't be so bad if there was nothing down there. but its where we have our studio, ie all of the instruments and byrons easel and artwork. so today was spent pumping the water out. i actually called home depot to see if i could buy some pallets to put in our basement on the unfinished side for some of the things we have that are in boxes and not rubbermade containers. they kindly gave them to me. so off i went to home depot with poor byron sucking the water out with the wet vac. got home and we had another big storm with lots of rain and had to do it all over again. we decided to put one of them into the studio to keep some of the instruments off of the floor. it if keeps raining like this i think i'll just start building another ark. at least for us we don't have carpet in the basement. my poor sistah has carpet in her basement and its totally soaked. her hubby spent like 6 hours wet-vacing yesterday only to have it flood again today.
we've decided to invest in some sump pumps (i guess thats how you spell it...) any body with more info feel free to shoot it my way. pics behind the cut...
