I haven't updated in a while, but I've been a very busy bee. Admission decisions are nearing, and I've been keeping my plate full to avoid checking my email every .5 seconds. I did a singing competition last week and won both my classical and musical theatre categories. Thumbs up there. I also made about eight new gay best friends that day. Afterward, Evan and I celebrated Valentine's Day with takeout Chinese and The Shining (eek!). I'd get $100 in the mail if I went to the regional level of said competition in Alabama, but I can't go because:
I'm in another play right now, less silly than the first. It's called Picnic; it won a Pulitzer in the fifties. There's lots of retarded backstage drama, which I find ridiculous in a community theatre setting because there's absolutely no reason to not have as much fun as possible. You ain't getting paid and you ain't Meryl Streep. I am having fun with it, for the most part. I get to swear, run around, fight, people, and get drunk, so how could I not?
At work I've learned the following:
1. Kindergarteners rule.
2. Second graders are, across all economic situations, cultures, and schools, total assholes. I would like to read some literature on why.
I'm thinking about switching blog hosts. I tire of the LJ.
Currently Reading: Outliers (Gladwell). Easy, breezy, engrossing. Pick it up!
