Batman and Robin swing into action once more as a quartet of villains- the Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman- join forces to threaten Gotham City. The villains' evil plan will see the Caped Crusaders head into space to foil their enemies. However, things may not be as simple as the Dynamic Duo think when a Replicator Ray is thrown into the mix.
Remember when the DC animated movies were fun? Yeah, it looks like the people that made this movie do as well. Things really seemed to go downhill after The Flashpoint Paradox. Thankfully, this movie was a return to form.
Adam West and Burt Ward reprise their roles as Batman and Robin from the 60's TV show. Julie Newmar returns to voice Catwoman as well. Most of the other actors who appeared in the show are no longer with us, but the people playing their parts make a decent job of making you believe that it is the originals.
Hopefully, those of you that are dismayed at the dark turn the DC animated movies are taken will be just as amused as I was to see this movie take a few shots at just how gritty and violent these movies had become. Due to villainous shenanigans, Batman starts to go evil. This is illustrated when he lays the beatdown on the villains. Gone are the silly old 'POW!' 'BIFF!' sound effects. Instead we get 'FRACTURE!' and 'GORE!' The people who made this movie obviously had a good time making it.
It turns out that a sequel is being planning with William Shatner playing Two-Face. Are you ready for the ham? I know I am!
