A powerful being claiming to be the Beyonder abducts a mis-matched band of heroes and villains and promises to grant their greatest wishes if they slay their enemies. However, everything is not as it seems.
Yet another gift from a dear friend intent on making me like the Hood. Okay, you can stop sending me trades, because I like the Hood now! I was a bit disappointed that the Hood didn't have a bigger part in the action. He was just one small part in a larger scheme. I did enjoy what little the Hood had to do though.
The certainly seemed more honourable than the other times I have seen him. This might have had something to do with the fact he was surrounded by various heroes and they wouldn't have stood for any villainous nonsense. Venom certainly found this out after he seemingly kills Spider-Man and Medusa gives him a bloody good thrashing. This was the Mac Gargan version of Venom, so I didn't feel all that bad about him almost getting whipped to death. I would have been more upset if it was the Eddie Brock version of Venom getting treated like that. I always preferred Mac Gargan as the Scorpion and didn't like what the writers did when they turned him into Venom and made him a cannibal.
I quite liked who I think was the son of Kraven the Hunter. I remember another one of Kraven's sons who became the Grim Hunter only to be killed off to show how much of a badass that Kaine guy was. Since when was this second Kraven such a Hollywood guy? Where can I read more about him? Is he still about in the comic snow? I haven't read Spider-Man in ages (for obvious reasons).
I liked that Gravity kid as well. It sucked that he ended up dying to save the others, but I'm glad it didn't stick. I remembered reading about somebody called Gravity signing up with the Superhero Initiative after Civil War, but I wasn't sure where this miniseries came in the Marvel continuity.
I think that is it for my Hood marathon. Unless he is in any more miniseries worth reading. I might check out the Dark Reign miniseries he was in if anything.
