My thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron

I have just gotten back from seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron and thought I would share my thoughts while they were still fresh in my head. It goes without saying that there will be spoilers.

It goes without saying that I really enjoyed this movie. Everybody got their time to shine. Anybody who thought that Hawkeye and Black Widow got short-changed in the first movie can breathe easy. This time around they get much more to do and we even get to learn a little more about their past. It turns out that Hawkeye even had a secret family.

The Scarlet Witch is just as awesome as I hoped she was. Quicksilver was there as well, but I don't really care for him. The pair easily thrash the Avengers the first time they meet. This isn't a particular surprise as the X-Men: Evolution version of the Scarlet Witch gave the X-Men a good seeing to when she first appeared in that show.

This version of Ultron was a lot funnier than the comic book version I am familiar with. James Spader was great in the role. So was Paul Bettany as the Vision. Everybody has seen the part of the trailer where the Avengers all try to lift Thor's hammer. His expression of surprise when Captain America manages to lift the hammer a tiny amount was just as funny this time around. You can imagine Thor's surprise when the Vision managed to actually lift the hammer. He even ends up using it in the final battle against Ultron.

The mid-credits scene wasn't anything to get excited about. It was just Thanos picking up the Infinity Gauntlet. I don't believe we get another scene right at the end. It turns out the scene involving Spider-Man that was circulating around the internet was just a fake. The scene involved Avengers Tower, but at the end of this movie the Avengers move into a different headquarters. So there.
